Shopping at Bridge Road + Rod Laver Arena

Today (26 January) is Australia Day (which is equivalent to 9 August National Day in Singapore), and therefore it is a holiday~ And because Australia Day falls on a Saturday this year, therefore, we get Monday off as a public holiday as compensation~ YAY! No work!

In the past 3 years I am always home in Singapore when Australia celebrates Australia Day, therefore, I've never experienced anything before. However, even though this year I managed to be in Australia for this occasion, we did not get to see the parade either. There were lots of people around in the city, and some people wrapped themselves with the flag of Australia. I know a couple of streets in the city were being blocked for the parade though.

This was one of the Saturdays I did not get to sleep in. 9.30am my alarm went off, signifying that it is time to get up... but I snoozed on. And so did Sha... We snoozed 'til 10.30am or so, and Chris called our house, asking for me, and Sha picked it up. So, we were all awaken by then and got to get up. Either way, we got to the city at 1pm, and met up with Chris, and then we traveled down to Bridge Road and started to do some shopping~

I've been to Chapel Street here a couple of times, but I haven't been to Bridge Road. The things there were super cheap, which is the direct opposite from the higher end Chapel Street. We had some lunch at McDonald's first, then started shopping. The outlet we stayed at longest was Esprit, which both Chris and Sha bought something. Chris got his friend a birthday gift, and Sha got a bag. I nearly got this checkered blouse which looked a tad too big for me, but 'medium' was the smallest available, and it was originally $79.95 reduced to $19.95!!! Dang..... I wanted it so bad, but Sha said it doesn't look nice to her, and Chris said it looks nice on me, but the colour is a tad matured and hard to match. In the end, I return it back to the rack. Sigh...

In the end, I was empty handed... We dived into several shops to have a look, and many were quite nice and cheap, but just didn't get to buy anything. The weather was hot and after a day of shopping we were really tired too.

The last stop was to Rod Laver Arena, which is the place Australia Open held its tennis games the past 2 weeks (I'm rooting for Frenchman J. Tsonga! Sorry Roddick and Federer!) We did not have tickets, so we can't enter, but we snapped some photos outside. Sha wanted to get some souvenirs, but in the end didn't manage to get any.

Picture time!

Recently, I've been at the pet shops again... Just love squatting there and looking/observing the little darlings... I really want to get a puppy for myself, but I know it needs a lot of time and love, as well as commitment to it. If I am busy all the time and spend very little time at home, I can't invest in a pet and then neglect it. So, I really don't know when I can get myself a little furry companion, but I hope the answer would be: SOON!

this mangly little cocker spaniel... so cute! It just woke up from its nap, and I can see it loves to be cuddled from the way it melts into the arms of an interested couple who hugged it...

I think they are Jack Russell breed or something similar (can't remember the name) but they are SUPER ACTIVE~ They were digging the corners of their little 'room', as well as shoveling at the shredded papers...

Another cocker spaniel who just got up from its nap. It's just a puppy but it's looking so big! But I love this kind of dogs... very cute. I petted it but it just sniffed me... But I want to take it home with me!
