Awesome and Intriguing - Transformers
Just came back from a movie... or rather, 2 movies... Eyes really tired, but still, having had no dinner (well, almost) I'm now drinking (and really enjoying) the chicken soup I made yesterday and writing this blog before hitting the showers.
First up, "Transformers". I tell ya, I LOVE THIS MOVIE! It was 2.5 hrs long, but it doesn't feel like all that hours have passed at all! Every minute of this movie intrigued me, and every minute wasn't boring at all. I love the effects, and I love how the cars turned into robots and transforms back... And I love the war, the fight, the excitement. I was very much mystified by the movie. I'll strongly recommend this movie for any action-packed movie lovers. It's one of the best movies I've seen this year. Plot from IMDb as follows:
A long time ago, far away on the planet of Cybertron, a war was being waged between the noble Autobots (led by the wise Optimus Prime) and the devious Decepticons (commanded by the dreaded Megatron) for control over the Allspark, a mystical talisman that would grant unlimited power to whoever possessed it. The Autobots managed to smuggle the Allspark off the planet, but Megatron blasted off in search of it. He eventually tracked it to the planet of Earth (circa 1850), but his reckless desire for power sent him right into the Arctic Ocean, and the sheer cold forced him into a paralyzed state. His body was later found by Captain Archibald Witwicky, and before going into a comatose state Megatron used the last of his energy to engrave a map, showing the location of the Allspark, into the Captain's glasses, and send a transmission to Cybertron. He is then carted away by the Captain's ship. A century later, Sam Witwicky, nicknamed Spike by his friends, buys his first car. To his shock, he discovers it to be Bumblebee, an Autobot in disguise who is to protect Spike, as he bears the Captain's glasses and the map carved on them. But Bumblebee is not the only Transformer to have arrived on Earth - in the desert of Qatar, the Decepticons Blackout and Scorponok attack a U.S. military base, causing the Pentagon to send their special Sector Seven agents to capture all "specimens of this alien race," and Spike and his girlfriend Mikaela find themselves in the middle of a grand battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons, stretching from Hoover Dam all the way to Los Angeles. Meanwhile, within the depths of the Pentagon, the cryogenically stored form of Megatron awakens...
Before we went to the cinemas, I had to work from 12-5pm. Edwin and I knocked off together, and me, having no where to spend the 3+hours, went over to Edwin's place... After quarrelling with him outside his house, we decided to just get over it and ended up watching a DVD at his place while munching on some really hard garlic bread... (that was my 'dinner'). He really liked "The Covenant", and urged me to watch it. So I did... Well, it's an interesting movie, plot from IMDb as follows:
In 1692, in the Ipswich Colony of Massachusetts, five families of powerful witches commit to a covenant of silence to protect themselves against the witch hunters, but one of the families transgress their pact and is banished from their lands. Along the centuries, the power and the covenant are transmitted through their descendants and when the eldest son is eighteen years old, he ascends to a higher power. However, the use of magic addicts and if used in excess, ages the warlock. In the present days, four wizards teenage friends are in high school and their leader Caleb Danvers is close to his eighteenth birthday and consequently to ascend. He has just met Sarah Wenham and they are dating, when the appearance of darkling and supernatural dreams haunt the group. Sooner they find an evil warlock, descendant of the fifth ancient family that wants to strip Caleb's power.
By the time we finished the movie, it's already 8.30pm and Edwin's housemate drove us back into the city, where the 2 of us met up with Grace, and 3 of us watched "Transformers".... Our usual Tuesday movie night... Next week, probably gonna watch Harry Potter, which will be out July 11th (tomorrow!)... IF we can get seats. We heard that people are already booking the tickets already...... It's gonna be jammed packed with people.
Alright, that's all for now... Finished my soup. Tomorrow's another day. No work, fortunately. My day off... WHEW... But I'm meeting classmates for lunch.
