2nd last day in Taipei at Danshui
Actually it is not quite the second last day, but since my flight later is at 9pm, and I do not have to set off for the airport til like 5.45pm, I still have half a day left to go around.
Went to Danshui (淡水) today which was great. The place became more prominent ever since Jay Chou filmed his movie, "secret", there. Since then, danshui has attracted many tourists, and also couples to the place. At Fisherman's Wharf (渔人码头) there is the famous bridge called Lovers Bridge, which is the main highlight of the whole Danshui trip. I crossed the bridge by myself bravely, but felt nothing at all. I looked at the couples in love taking photos at the bridge, sneered (not really but just a little sacarstic) and thought to myself, "I am happy that I am actually single!" I caught the sunset there which was really pretty. A worthwhile trip indeed.

Lovers bridge at the Fisheman Wharf. The different coloured lights made the bridge really colorful at night.
On the right is Danshui's famous 阿给. You can only find it at Danshui and no where else. It is actually fried tofu stuffed with vermicelli, served with a lightly sweet sauce. Not bad actually.
And on the left is just fried bee hoon with beanshoots and minced meat. Different from the fried bee hoon I love so much in Singapore, but still tasty in a different way.
These photos were taken with my HTC cuz my camera ran out of battery. Which explains why I was able to post these.
My plans tomorrow --- so many it's hectic. I have to pack up in the morning and check out at around 12pm. Leaving my luggage there afterwards and head out to Sun Yat Sen memorial hall. That is the only thing left I have planned but not yet seen. Plan to stay there for approx an hour or so and then leave for Zhongshan station, where my shopping will commence. This shopping would be trying to get the things my friends have asked me to bring back for them, mainly Taiwanese food items. And of course, if I have time, shopping for myself as well.
It'd be sad to leave Taiwan...... Hopefully I can visit soon, especially with my grandfather's century old birthday coming up soon, it will be the best opportunity to come again.
Back to Singapore for 1.5 days before I go back to Melbourne. My holidays are almost over.... Too quick!!! :(
