Life back to normal... or not?

Sunday night was back to work for me, and it was crazy.
Priscilla told me that the previous Sunday that I was on leave was so quiet and boring. However, I nearly fell flat after 4th Oct Sunday because the takeaway was freaky crazy! The phone kept ranging off its hook, and I was the "Float" plus "Phone" person, therefore I was practically on the phone the entire night. The best part was, I was trying to manage the phone cradled between my ear and shoulder, and at the same time helping Benise pack the takeaway and make drinks in the bar, AND try as much as I can to support everyone in their positions. Imagine how much brain cells I've killed trying to multi-task, and remembering accurately what each and every customer has ordered with no mistakes!

Monday morning was back to the office. Honestly, I am getting seriously fed-up with my job. In fact, before I went on my annual leave, my supervisors were both unhappy with the mistakes I've made on some of my invoices, and I am also unhappy of their attitude towards me. True, I admit I have made mistakes. But after our new system has been implemented, I was never properly taught on how to use it. 60% of the knowledge was taught by 3 different colleagues, and the other 40% was self-taught/explored. It doesn't matter what has happened now, but I DETEST 2-face jokers where one day they will preach to you that "they are here to help me, so I should feel free to approach them with any problems"; and the next day they will give you a "go-fuck-yourself" kind of look when you approach them with a problem. I am so tired of having to tactfully approach them and observe how they could be feeling, so as not to step on their tail(s).

One of my managers had a meeting with me on Monday and we talked about the mistakes I've made, and the problems I've encountered. To him, he feels that I am a more flexible person who doesn't conform to a fixed set of rules. He even deduced that I could be someone 'creative' from the degrees I've studied in the past. However, the invoicing/purchasing assistant role is a very inflexible role that needs attention to detail (I don't really) and requires no creativity except to follow the steps to do my work (I can't). This role requires someone very organized (I am not!) too. He feels that I am just like a circle trying to fit into a square box, and he can feel that I am not happy with my job.

He is 85% correct. What he doesn't know is the challenge I give myself in everything I do, and the different things I can learn even though I do not like my job. True, I work mainly for getting paid because I am supporting myself and it is extremely difficult to find my dream job. But with every job I've done, I learn a lot from different aspects and that makes me grow in different ways, and I value that achievement. At the end of the day, I probably am not happy, but sometimes learning things the harder way can benefit you in a different sort of way.

Bevilles is not a place someone should stay for long. It is no place for you to climb any further. I have seen so many people come and go. I don't know why I am stuck to this company for such a long time, and I have no idea how I did either. However now I am starting to look for jobs again, and probably I will quit (unless I get fired) by next January. Probably earlier if I am lucky enough to find a job. And this time, nothing will pull me back to get out. I have had enough of those stuck-up, fake and joker-faced people, who croons "sweetheart", "darl" and "love" to you yet you know, and they know you know, that they don't mean it. I feel goosebumps all over my body whenever they call me that.

Probably it is going to be time for me to put an end to dreading waking up in the morning to go to work! Why add on to the miseries since life is already miserable enough??

In contrary, working at Sozai seems a happier option. At least I have friends working with me, and people are all friendly to one another. However, when I saw Yiyi on Monday, she told me she has quit Sozai, and this is her last week. I was devastated! She had wanted to tell me last week when she broke the news to the boss, but knew I was on holidays therefore didn't want to dampen my mood. It is always much better with her around because we always support one another at work and back each other up. Honestly, in Sozai, there are only me, Yiyi, Benise and Makiko who can back each other up because we are the only ones who knows everything inside out of the little restaurant. Makiko only works 2 days a week and I don't get to see her, and now if Yiyi's gone, what's gonna happen next? I can already see Benise feeling unmotivated already... I am still trying to hold on... SIGH!

I can't give up yet. I need to at least keep this job because any time I could just quit Bevilles if someone ignites my temper!

Just met up with Stephanie and Chris for dinner. Congrats to Stephanie, she has just received her Australian citizenship! However, she will be returning to China this Sunday to continue working, and I will be missing a friend! Stephanie is such a fun person to be with! I will miss her.....

We went to Max Brenner to chill after that, and made Chris try to get the number of this cute girl who works there. And he did! It was such fun to make fun of him! We had so much laughs and so much chocolate dosage that my tummy is so bloated now!

Maybe I might consider going Beijing to find Stephanie next year (she's not from Beijing but she works there) after my Korea trip... She already has offered me long time ago to show me around.

Already craning my neck for the weekends, which seem really far away still! I've already had enough now...
