Somebody save me...
How life-LESS could my life possibly be getting, with nothing happening in my life except for work, work, and MORE work (more than 60 hours per week!!!)... and any other time out of work will be to catch up on sleep? Even my time spent on surfing the internet has been greatly reduced, because by the time I finally get my butt home it will already be midnight (or after midnight), and all I can think of is to quickly hit the showers, and then off to bed to get up in time for work the next day. How tough! And now my company is getting triple (or maybe quadruple) the amount of work cuz Christmas is just around the corner. On top of that, I am mostly on my own without a helper, therefore I became "2 Clarice-s" to get everything out on time. Then, I've got to train Christmas casuals too, which is something I found frustrating because I can't teach very well without confusing people. It has added stress that I get from work (but they did NOT increase my pay!...) And the restaurant is not getting any quieter either... Moreover, the unsympathetic manager has been SO NICE to be putting me in the front section - a.k.a the MOST STRESSFUL section in the whole restaurant, just to exhaust all my energy! Bleah! -_-;;;
I can't describe how elated I am that it's the weekends! Even though I still work at night during weekends, but at least I don't have to wake up at 7 in the morning..! Like just now, I slept 'til well past 1pm before I got up reluctantly, knowing that I still got to clean my room and do my laundry... My bed has never been more comfortable...
I did not work so much by choice. Save the part that I work full time at my company, hence I report to work 8.30am-5pm Mon-Fri. However the restaurant has been asking me to work 6 nights for the past 2 weeks, as well as next week, because everyone's having their exams now, and they took leave or cut their shifts. I'm sort of filling in the spots for everyone... It's no joke having to work this much, especially when I have to report straight to work after a hectic day at my company. I have no break at all... And this will last 'til midnight when I get home. And the story repeats itself the next day... and the next... and the next.... x infinity...
Friends tell me: I should be happy, cuz I am rich now... I have not been eating out at all, other than having dinner with friends from Korean class after we finish our class. I've been bringing the food provided at our restaurant to work for my lunch, therefore saving money to buy takeaway. I haven't even got the time to do grocery shopping, least to say, real shopping. However I don't think I am rich... I am saving up every cent I can to go on a holiday next year. Probably with this lousy economy I can only go to one place eventually, but then it's always better than nothing. I need a break. And I want to get out of Australia to see other parts of the world!
I am wondering when I'll be able to get a FULL day off... I was praying that next Tuesday I'll get the day off since it is a public holiday here in Melbourne (it's Melbourne Cup Day), however, I have to work in the restaurant at night... Oh well...
Really hope I will be able to hang in there, and that loose thread that I am hanging on will not snap all of a sudden and then I will be falling, falling, falling...... and falling into the pitch darkness beneath...
Afterwards, join me for herbal soup, and mask sessions, anyone? :)
