Alvin's Birthday Dinner

Finally, I am able to have a full day totally OFF from work, and have some quality time instead of slogging off at the restaurant on a Saturday. You cannot imagine how happy I am today.... I forgot most of my pain and miseries, and actually enjoyed the day tremendously.

Of course, I slept in until way past 1.30pm when I woke up reluctantly, however, with a different feeling. The feeling of not having to go to work later on is great! I ate lunch, vacuumed my room, watched "Made of Honor" (which was quite alright), and then got ready to go to Alvin's birthday party.

Don't ask me how old Alvin is... I think he's pushing 30... lol... I think he mentioned he is now 29... But either way, his birthday was actually on the 14th, but he had his party the day after. According to him, he has like 4 birthday bashes, one of which would be for his language class peeps. He was an ex-Korean class student, but he has never been in our class. I knew him through Daniel, and we always hang out for dinner after Korean classes. He is currently learning Mandarin, and he had some of his classmates from Mandarin class over as well.

I was pleased our teacher Hye Ri was able to make it for the party! And just now, I finally got to meet Tony and Mary's newborn Nathan, and he was such a darling!!! He's 7 weeks old now, and he is just amazing..... So cute too! Other people from Korean class who were there were Jingyan and Daniel. The rest of the people there were from Alvin's Chinese class, and even though we were all introduced, but we did not mingle much, therefore by the end of the night I still do not know any of them... lol... Anyway, Alvin cooked for all of us... He is a really good cook! He cooked for us Kimchi chigae, Bulgogi, Kimchi jeon (pancake), Galbi, and we also have kimchi, seaweed salad and other snackies... And he made drinks for us - vodka fruit punch (watermelon with vodka, mango with vodka, pineapple with vodka...)... Before going to Alvin's place, Daniel, Jingyan and I bought Korean rice wine over, so all of us had some too!

Now for the photos...... Took quite many of them, but will only share some here... My hair looks out of place!!! I woke up with a really horrible-looking hair that even my straightener can't fix. :(

If I had cash, I wouldn't mind investing $800 on this fantastic massaging chair...
I had my much-deserved massage with Alvin's chair...
However, I just took a photo with Jingyan in it lol...

There goes my Saturday... I think I'll be getting another one relaxing Saturday next week, but how I wish good times will last because they simply fly by too fast! Just like on Thursday, when I met Yongshan and Suya for dinner at Sambal Kampong, and after that had a good chat at Starbucks, time just flew past like that *snaps fingers*... Why does time spent at work have to be so painfully looooooooong?????

Back to work Sunday night, and then Monday would be the same old story again for the week... :-\ That's life, huh?
