쾌도 홍길동

This drama is a must-watch! It's so hilarious, yet the issues raised are serious at the same time. The story is about Hong Gil-Dong, an illegitimate son born to a noble man, was never been regarded as a proper son. So he turns into someone who is carefree and doesn't care about anything in this world. However he is extremely intelligent who mastered great martial arts skills from his master, who taught him well in all aspects including different thinkings, life and inner control. And then he got to know the legitimate king of the Joseon dynasty Chang-Hui, who was supposed to have been killed 20 years ago by the current Joseon King to ascend to the throne. The current king was a corrupted one, who rob from the poor and give the riches to officers who doesn't deserve it. Under his rule, many people suffer. An incident happened to Hong Gil-Dong that eventually spurred him to join the 'thieves' gang, and together with these 'thieves', rob the rich and save the poor, as well as helping Chang-Hui get to his deserved position as King. He was hailed the greatest hero in Joseon dynasty.

Kang Ji-Hwan is Hong Gil-Dong, and I reckon he's one fantastic actor! His facial expressions can make you laugh~ Then when he is serious, you will become serious too. Same goes when he is sad. Great actor indeed~

Sung Yu-Ri is Heo Yi-Nok, the girl who likes to dress like a guy, goes around with her grandfather selling medicine. She's pure and innocent, and a little dumb... but she brings comfort to both Hong Gil-Dong and Chang Hui, so both of them has fallen in love with her and vowed to protect her...

Jang Geun Suk is Chang-Hui, the legitimate king who was supposedly been burnt alive with the queen, his mother 20 years ago. However, his mother sacrificed herself and let one of the court ladies to bring him out, raised him, and prepare him to become the country's king.

Very interesting drama indeed, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Especially at times when I am so down and nothing seems to be looking at the bright side, watching "Hong Gil-Dong" made me smile and forget all miseries for the time being.
