We <3 Korean food
No surprise for me to love Korean food, cuz everyone I know knows they are one of favorites~ But when we proposed to meet for dinner, Alice told me she specifically wants to have Korean food, because she has fallen in love with kimchi!
Alice has just been back to Hong Kong for holiday, and then she went to Seoul, South Korea for a week with her mom as well. She fell in love with kimchi over there. I was surprised when she told me she loves kimchi now because I remembered she used to hate them, and doesn't take spicy food. I brought her to Oriental Spoon because that was nearer to where we were, but then next time when we meet up again (preferably with Claudia, Ling or Isabel - haven't seen them in ages!) we will go to Han Guk Kwan. I've been dying to go there again. I like the food there.
The 2 of us ordered a casserole, which was a big stone pot with pork and squid, as well as mushrooms and kimchi in a special sauce. It was delicious! On top of that, we also ordered steamed dumplings. Had a great meal, and believe it, we sat in the restaurant for almost 4 hours eating and chatting! When the waiter presented us with our bill, only then we realized that we were the last customers left in the restaurant and it's already 10.30pm.

Sigh!! How I wish I can travel to Korea now!! To do that, it's high time I brush up my very poorly spoken Korean...
Before meeting for dinner, I went to Armadale for an interview at this Japanese restaurant called Sozai. It is quite a high-class restaurant, judging from what I am supposed to wear to work (long sleeve black blouse with buttons, black pants, black leather shoes, black socks, strictly NO jeans... sounds like I'm gonna be a mafia instead!) What makes me want to pick up waitressing all over again, when I've told myself numerous times not to ever go into the F&B industry ever again? There are 2 main reasons for it:
Friday 25th is ANZAC Day... A day to commemorate the Australian and New Zealand soldiers who fought the first world war. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, and it's a public holiday. A long weekend for everyone. But for me, I had a even longer weekend having only Monday and Tuesday at work this week.
Hope to have some fun over the weekend... my life's getting too mundane already... But I also hope that I will be getting enough rest as well because next week will be FULL ON. I will be working at Bevilles everyday Mon-Fri, and probably a couple of days at the restaurant at night. I will be exhausted, but I am somewhat looking forward to it. :)

- I am now a temporary part-timer at Bevilles because the boss has given word that there should be no more casuals in the office as the busy Christmas period is long over. The thing is, a part-timer's hourly rate is lesser than that of a casual. I am earning $4 less each bloody hour! I have an option of declining the position, but that means there will not be anymore jobs for me. I am guaranteed one day of work though, and other days will be 'on advise', depending on work load. Call me greedy - but I am unable to cope with the reduction in wages, as well as uncertainty in hours. I have become too free these days and I don't like it.
- Sozai needs people only for the night shift, which works perfectly for me because it will never clash with my job in the day. Furthermore, by returning home later at night, I can see less of any unhappiness and loneliness I am facing at home. I know this sounds stupid, but perhaps by tiring myself and returning home late, I can numb myself. Furthermore, having a busier and somewhat more 'fulfilling' life is what I propose to do. When you fill your everyday life, you live happier and more satisfied. There is insufficient time for you to think other unnecessary things, anyway. Before I find the job of my dreams, I must try to earn as much as I can, as well as learn as much as I can. Self-improvement. Romance is just bullshit (at least for me). There are more important things in life for me to worry about.
