마지막 수업
Just completed another level of my Korean studies (level 7). There will be one week of rest, and then level 8 will commence on 12 August.
However, Hye Ri disclosed to us at the very last minute of our level 7 class, that she will not be teaching us level 8, which left all of us dumbfounded. Apparently she is taking a 6-8 months off from teaching to go to France (and maybe other parts of Europe as well - reason unknown). After all these years, all of us have grown accustomed to Hye Ri's way of teaching. What's more, we are all friends out of class too! At this stage we still do not know who our new teacher will be, but I really hope he/she will be good! It's good to have a new teacher and learning from a different teaching technique, however, we will probably take some time to adapt to him/her, and vice versa.
After Korean 8 finishes on the 25 November, I will be going to Korea for winter. Yes, I have already made up my mind. Initially it was a trip meant for late September to early November, however, I chose to delay for the following reasons: 1) to earn more money before going away; 2) to escape the atrocious heat in December/January; 3) to complete Korean 8 and thereby strengthening my ability which will definitely help me in my one-month course there; 4) my unni, Jay, is most likely to go back to Korea in December as well... we might tour Busan together!
All of us will be joining Korean 8, which will be a good thing (other than Roland, who will not be continuing since Chiria is expecting soon). All of us have build such great rapport over the years, so it is great that we are all still studying together.
We will miss you, Hye Ri!! We promise to study hard and be good in class But of course, meeting up is not a problem if she is in Australia. We always take turns to organize something. Let's hope she will be back for level 9 (if any).
