Back in Singapore
Last day in Melbourne - I worked half day. Steven, my boss, threatened to lock me inside the freezer and only let me out after my flight has taken off.... He refused to give me my pay, saying "who says u can leave?!" Hahaha.... But eventually I got my pay and left, after hugging my bro Edwin and my second shijie Lilian.... and goodbyes to the peeps in the kitchen, I left... Maybe I'll be back in March... who knows..
Did all my packing and cooked myself dinner. Actually I was happy to settle on just instant noodles, but then I saw the tofu in the fridge which was a little over the expiry date. So I cooked that with spicy mince from the can. Fried egg as well. Then opened a can of preserved 'mian jin', and cooked rice... There I have it~ One meal. Also managed to find a new housemate called Frank, who came by to view the house, and liked it, and decided he will stay. I found him acceptable too. COOL! Sharuen and I nearly thought we're going to share off the rent for the empty room for February... now it's all settled. Called Sharuen to tell her the good news and she was elated.

I will miss Singapore Chom Chom... I'll miss Edwin, Cheau Yin and Yong Shan... I'll miss little Naomi, the little girl who is the daughter of Nancy's (Steven's wife) sister-in-law (a bit complicated right?). She always pops by our place and she only plays with me, Lilian and Edwin. Edwin said before I have the ability to play with little kids... lol... Maybe cuz I'm a mini kid myself too lol...

But I won't miss the food... cuz I'm back in Singapore myself... hohoho.... But I'll miss being paid and having free food... hehe...

19 January 2007 @ 21:20HRS -- FINALLY back in SINGAPORE~ Was so happy to see my parents again.... But I must say that the 7hours of flight was excruciating.... I was so sleepy, but I couldn't sleep properly. Ended up only watching one movie ("Open Season"), and finished up 2 meals, and slept the rest of the journey. Am I glad to touch down in Changi Airport!
First stop after I alighted the plane, my parents brought me to East Coast Lagoon Food Village (it's a new upgraded place) to have satay, oyster omelette, popiah and cheng teng~ Yummmmy.... I missed these food... Though I have never fancied eating out in the open of a hawker center, and sweat and being really sticky, I still enjoyed the food. I don't like the humidity though... Never liked, never will like. I hate being sticky~
Good thing it's not raining anymore in Singapore. Mum told me it has stopped a couple of days before.
And only halfway through attacking my oyster pancake that I realised that I need to snap photos......

Stayed at home for Saturday.... Everyone was tired. I slept like there's no tomorrow... I can't believe how incredibly tired I was! Must have accumulated it from my days of work and little sleep, and that long flight. But it feels weird to be resting. I'm more used to work and leading a hectic, running around life. I woke up automatically at 9am Melbourne time (6am Singapore time) because I'm so used to waking at that time.
Mum cooked me tonic soup with Beijin Ramen, and it was yummy... I love soup~ It was a long time since mum cooked, and she will never fry anything at home cuz of the grease and the massive cleaning up after that, but she still find other ways to cook something. For dinner, she mixed tofu, meatballs, cabbages, different mushrooms, and fishballs cooked with ikan bilis sauce, and it tasted wonderful with rice.

From their trip to China, mum bought me a little new 'pet'... a little PANDA~ So cute!! I can hold it in my palm! Mum knows me best... She knows the little kid in me. I love soft toys, and I am guilty to admit that at the age of 23 (or going 24) I'm still like a kid. I don't think I'll ever change.

Sunday - Went to Singapore's newest, largest shopping center, just beside Harbour Front and opposite Sentosa Island - Vivo City. It's indeed one of the biggest ever, and when you go out, you can see Sentosa Island. There are ferries express to the island from Vivo City. Nice~

Bought 2 tank tops for SGD$20... Cheap~ And also 2 pairs of earrings for only $6.80... Also cheap~ Hard to get that kind of price in Australia... 1 pair of earrings already cost $6.80 there, or more... Had fun shopping... Also saw very familiar Gloria Jeans coffee and Diva there... Was kinda surprised actually cuz I didn't expect they'll have them in Singapore as well.
Settled for a late dinner at the food court there. Had Korean Dokk Bbok Gi (rice cakes - my fave!) as well as a not-so-tasty Bak Kut Teh. There're definitely MUCH MUCH better bak kut tehs out there... but the food court one is not nice.
I love dokk bbok gi... very nice~ and i love the anchovies and kimchi too~
Will never come back to eat this bak kut teh though...
Glad to be spending some time out with my parents... Dad's leaving for Sri Lanka again tomorrow... So it'll be just me and mom...

Haven't told many of my friends that I'm back yet... It's a pity I can't meet up with Andy this time.... Really really miss him! I wonder when is the next time we'll meet again... So Andy, if you're reading this: VISIT MELBOURNE SOON ok! :)
Meanwhile, I'll be leading a pigging out and snoozing life.... Til I go back Melbourne... hehe...
