Some time this week...

This week, there has been a little bit happening... Besides work, I have been having a little bit more fun and relaxation since I've reduced so much shifts from my night job. In a way, I realized that ever since being able to have a little bit more time on my hands, I can actually rest a bit more and lead a little more of my own life, even if it means staying at home doing nothing...

On Thursday, we had our Korean class, however, it was not the usual class we always have where we sit individually and Hye Ri will explain new grammar and vocabularies. This week, it will be Gurd's last day with us in class. He will be going back to Germany and will resume being a university lecturer. I think he has been in Australia for about 2 years or so to do his research on Linguistics. So far, I think Gurd is the best in class in terms of his knowledge and command for the Korean language. He surpasses most of us. But then, he specializes in Linguistics, having came up with plans to put one of the 300+ languages in words for Papua New Guinea. His research sounds VERY interesting.

Hye Ri and the rest of us had a little 'picnic' in class, chit-chatting, and afterwards, she taught us a few things. Everyone bought/brought something. As everyone is busy, most of us bought some snacks into class, except for Kathy, who spent time making some asparagus rolls (English-style) and they were yummy! We were missing Minako and Daniel, but otherwise everyone was present.

All the best in Germany, Gurd!

Then on Friday night, after work, Yiyi, Clayton and I went to Kanpai on Chapel Street to have later dinner/supper, and then wandered around Chapel, seeing party-goers going all drunk and crazy on a Friday night, and then sat down at Chapellis AND Cafe Grecco for (non-alcoholic) drinks. Chit-chatted til 4am, listening to Clayton reciting his 'love-stories' when he was only 17. I haven't seen that side of Clayton before, actually... Never know he can be so chatty and such a story-teller too...

Then when Yiyi drove me home she confided in me in some personal issues, and we chit-chatted til 5.30am in the car outside my house, before it was too late to go on any further. I was already too brain-dead to give proper advice, but as a big sister (I am 4 years older than her) I am able to see things a little bit clearer than she can, therefore I think I gave her a very good advice. I hope things will work out for her soon!

On Saturday, Yongshan, Shu Yea (I have always spelt her name wrong...) and I went to IKEA because I wanted to go there and have a look at storage baskets and possibly a desk chair. I love IKEA. Or simply said, I like to shop around furniture and homeware stores topped with home designs. They give me ideas on how I can decorate my future house, if I get to afford one. In the end, I got my basket. However, I did not buy any desk chairs since I do not have a car and cannot possibly bring a big, heavy box home taking public transport. I know IKEA does delivery, but I also know that their delivery times are always unknown therefore you need to be around the whole day in case they do arrive. The chair has got to wait. Meanwhile, I will have to settle with my old, not-so-comfortable foldable chair...

Along with my basket, I also got myself a quilt, Swedish ginger cookies, and a cactus...

After IKEA, we were exhausted. Never thought it could be so tiring walking slowly around a furniture store.... Anyway, we went back to the sisters' place and we had a little nap (well only Shu Yea and I napped), and then at 9pm we went to Coconut House to have dinner. Yongshan and I each ordered a vegetarian laksa (with bean curd, eggplant, beanshoots) and Shu Yea got herself a nasi lemak. I've yet been to Coconut House before. It is a Malaysian restaurant located on Elizabeth Street in the city.

There will be more 'events' going on on Sunday before I go to work at Sozai. And I've just cleared the huge mess in my room, which is a big relief! Now everything is looking much manageable and comfortable. Right now, I am aiming to be someone neater, more organized and more oriented in both my home (especially my room since I don't have absolute control in other parts of the house!) and my desk in the office. I need to get things, and myself all sorted out. Hope this will clear my head a little bit, and make life a little easier for me.

To be continued soon.............
