Crepe Craze~
Thank goodness I finished my big haul of individual presentation for COM4010! I was in a nervous wreck, and I have no idea why! I should be so used to presentations and it should just come out as a second nature to me. I did so many of them in marketing! But I'm still in a nervous wreck. Luckily I didn't weee in my pants~
It went well, fortunately. I was kinda jittery at first (I think I realized that, but my classmates confirmed my nervousness), then I was alright as I moved along. Kinda got the hang of it I guess. I thought my presentation sucked, and went to consult Bryce (my lecturer/tutor) about it. He told me I have good presentation skills, I was clear, I was easy to follow, but the content wasn't too argumentative or critical. Much of the stuff are from my reading, with support from newspaper sources, but he wanted some arguments there. I lacked in that aspect. Bleah~ I couldn't find anything to argue about Diffusion of Innovation on Digital TV, or in the context of British, US and Australia... Oh well~ It's over, anyway.

On Tuesday (22 August) there was a book launch by Melbourne University at Trades Hall Bar just at the corner of Lygon Street and Victoria street. It's the book by a Monash author : "From Traveller to Traiter - The Life of Wilfred Burchett"
Thinking it'll be interesting, me and 2 other classmates intend to go. I even took half a day off from work so I can go. However, it was disappointing, even though we didn't sit throught the ceremony at all.
It was hard to locate the place. When we found Trades Hall Bar we can't find the right entrance to the first level bar. When we finally located it, it was a small, dimly lit bar, with guys drinking beer and at the corner of the bar was a table with the newly published book, and a lady doing some arrangements. The whole atmosphere was just.... aussies and booze. There'll be a speech afterwards I know, but none of us wanted to stay any longer. So we just took a photo before we go.

With our Monash University (Arts) - National Centre of Australian Studies (NCAS) poster... Vivien, Clarice and Candy
Then we proceeded to Lygon Street to have dinner at Ying Thai. Before going to Trades Hall Bar, we met a friend of Candy's, who has been in Melbourne for 5 years already. His name is Joi. He's currently doing hairdressing (for immigration purpose). He's the one who led us to Trades Hall Bar (or else we'll be lost forever!) and he had dinner with us as well. Ahhh... I feel so bad!!!! So does Vivien and Candy~ It's me and Vivien's first time knowing him, and he treated us to dinner~ And he insisted we don't pay back! Dang.... I feel so pai seh lor! If he's a friend it'll be alright, but we just knew him.... -_-;;;
After that, I was waiting for my housemate Sharuen in the city so that we can go back together, Candy and I lingered around Melbourne Central for a while more. I couldn't resist temptations so I ended up buying a Mango crepe at the newly opened crepe shop: Ichiban Crepes, at Melbourne Central. It was not bad! Mango, plus my choice of ice-cream (strawberry), syrup (strawberry). There are several other flavours, but I'll try again in future. I took a long time in deciding which one I wanted! Typical me... Anyway, Candy was too full to eat anymore stuff. She took photos for me instead:

It's dark without the flash....

My crepe from the top

Some crepes that Candy was eyeing on and want to try next time...

Just a thought:
I wonder why people can be so SELFISH on PUBLIC TRANSPORTS
1- On the shuttle bus one day, I was the last one to board the bus before it's time to go. The front part of the bus was full but there are seats at the back. HOWEVER, this guy chose to sit in the MIDDLE of his seat, and put his bag beside him, taking up the entire seat! He didn't budge when I was looking at him. Then, I saw a seat besides another guy, but he's got a BOOK on the seat. And he didn't move it either (turns out that book belongs to the person behind! WTF..), ARGH! So I looked on.
Ended up sitting beside a girl, whom I can see was super UNWILLING to let her seat. She got to move her bag, and then she gave me that kind of irritated look when I sat down. What the..... I didn't care anyway. Before reaching Caulfield, she hauled her jacket in my direction and I was just closing my eyes for a while when her jacket hit me. She didn't apologise or move her jacket away. I sort of looked at her for a long time, but she pretended she didn't see me.
What kind of nonsense is this??? That bus does NOT belong to anyone and is it that torturing to let the seat beside u to someone??! One person do NOT need 2 seats! And they are not even obese! For god sake, be considerate! -_-
2 - I also cannot stand people who push their way INTO the train before other passengers could alight. Especially people from a particular race (I won't say it here cuz it will offend people). It's as if they are afraid that if they have gone in a second later they'll be left with no seats. And people refuse to move into the train and let more people board the train annoys the hell out of me as well! :S ARGH!
Ok... maybe I complain too much. Human nature, isn't it? But I'm just so sick at watching people be so unfair to others. GRRRR...
