ARMADALE

"새집 찾았는데, 앞으로 돈 더 많이 필요있어서, 돈을 더 적립해야돼... 풀타임... 어디서???!!!" 

Posting made on my Facebook -  It's just random that I wanted to express myself in Korean. It just means "Even though I've found a new place, I will need lots of money in future. Therefore I will need to earn lots more money. Full time... where are you???" 

The apartment that I wished I can move into, but am waiting for their reply called me last night and announced that they will love to stay with me. 

The feeling is like winning a lottery, but in a negative sort of way. It's just because there weren't any other Asians who have viewed the house, so that it seemed like I am their only choice, although they said they DO like my personality from our first meeting. No doubt I understand where they come from and I'm not so unreasonable to know why they did what they did. And I don't think I am capable to turn people off though I don't guarantee that everyone will like me after actually knowing me. Anyway, it's a win-win situation either way cuz I did also really want to stay there, despite of the $750 per month rent I'm going to be paying in future. Well I am paying for the convenience (mostly, I think), and also the area I will be in is sort of branded as the 'rich' area. Seriously, I definitely appreciate the pay rise cuz it will help me a lot!

After receiving news that I have finally found a place and I can thus end my episode of house-hunting, I made a few calculations. With my current pay and eliminated transportation costs, I will definitely be able to pay the rent and still save, PROVIDED I don't spend on other unnecessary items that I simply just wanted and not need (i.e. clothes, shoes, bags...etc). Honestly I don't need any of those. When I was clearing out and doing some packing up, I've came across so many things that I didn't need - clothes I bought but never worn; bags I've bought but never used; items I've bought but there're of no use so they're never used. All the monies I could've saved if I haven't bought those unnecessary things, which I will eventually either chuck them out, or give them away. I'm planning to donate part of my clothings to the Salvation Army. There's one just near my place. At least, rather than throwing them out, I can make sure that these items can reach people who might really need them. 

Oh yes, the area that I will be moving into is Armadale. So near my workplace. It's about a 10-15 minutes walk to work. Easy and convenient. If I want to get into the city, the station is 1 minute away, and train ride is about 10-15 minutes. For the time being when I am still searching for work (and has yet found one), I guess that's probably my most economical option.

I dread moving house. All the effort that has to go prior to settling down. Hopefully all these will end soon!
