Expensive dinner @ Chocolate Buddha
It's finally SPRING here in Melbourne! These couple of days were slightly warmer, though at night it is still pretty cold. I think maybe soon we can start to take out the lighter jackets and pack the heavier ones... Spring is nice, however, it means that summer is going to be here soon.... And I dread summer....................
Yesterday, Yiyi, Kylie and I met up to have dinner together. I suggested Chocolate Buddha because I wanted to go there to try their fusion of Japanese and (slightly-dubbed) Western cuisine. Chocolate Buddha has been on Melbourne's Good Food Guide and I have heard good comments about it. So this time round, instead of being clueless on where to go, I finally made a suggestion on where to eat! So unexpected from Miss Clarice!
It's a weird name - Chocolate Buddha. I asked the waiter why it was named so and he said the owner of the place bought this chocolate-coloured Buddha long time ago and when he opened up the restaurant, he decided to name it after this precious colletion of his. In the restaurant, you will see an array of different Buddha statuettes lined neatly on the shelf. The place was bustling with people. The food there was quite pricey, but not bad. The reason for being higher priced is because of the organic meat they use. Plus, they are located in Federation Square, in the heart of the city. Honestly, their prices can be considered average for a place like that.

Clockwise: Gyoza, Sashimi, Octopus nori, smoked salmon with cream cheese rolls.
That is the 'Oysters 3-way' - Yuzu Champagne shooter, Straight Up (with wasabi and tobiko), Steamed (with teriyaki, ginger and sesame oil)
I had the Yuzu Champagne shooter. It was very different, but good. The oysters are fresh.
Our main meals: Wagyu beef and tempura soba
Kylie thinks: Will all these fill me up???
Note #1: She was starving before waiting for me to finish work...
Note #2: We are ALL big eaters... and yes, we are all girls. :)
Especially Yiyi and me... we can really really eat. We can finish the whole banquet of food and still go... "I'm STILL hungry!"
After that we drove to Doncaster for some pancakes at Pancake Parlour.

It's another almost 3 weeks before I start my annual leave for 1.5 weeks. I can't wait! I'm so tired from work I find it hard to breathe sometimes because of that.
I'm happy and excited that Amelia is coming down to Melbourne to visit! Finally, someone other than my parents is coming down to visit me! I've actually got lots planned however I am not sure how many of those plans I can execute. Especially so when I intend to drive and I suck with directions. Plus, things always change, one such thing would be the unpredictable Melbourne weather... How could I control which day will/will not rain so we can avoid touring in the open? I wish to be a good host, but am I really that capable? How can I control the course of nature?
I'm not worrying about these things at this moment. I have too much on my mind... Our company is running all Christmas orders and I'm nailed down tight to have to work my ass off every day. My annual leave would be the ONLY leave I will ever get until next year...
I received a pay rise again at the restaurant! Honestly I wasn't expecting a pay rise this quick therefore when I was told that my boss(es) decides to give me the increment, I was flabbergasted. There is a reason why I am quite 'afraid' of Gen-san is because I can never tell what is going on in his mind. What he says is so different what what he really thinks, and we know that. I know he can see that I am starting to slack and seem to be lacking the spark when I work. Furthermore, Eric is leaving soon, and we will be down on one more senior. Therefore the only option is to increase my pay to keep me there. Of course, I am also aware of the things Benise and Makiko have been saying to the boss for me. I know behind my back they have been praising me saying that when I am around I eased a lot of pressure.
Either way, I have no intentions of quitting at the moment. Sozai is like my backup. If one day I lose my job, I will still have some sort of income. Increase in pay means I can earn a lot more than before.
Saving up..... I am planning on a Korea/Japan trip next year. Will I be able to make it????
