KTX 타고있음
Looks like I am blogging again before the year ends~~ On board of the KTX bullet train at 270km/h bound for Seoul. Earlier on, I had my late breakfast (11Am!), checked out at 11.30am, bade farewell to my host and some other people staying at the guest house. On my way out there were two maintenance men who were looking at me with bewilderment.
(In Korean)
Man #1: 위국인 안니죠?
(She's not a foreigner, is she?)
Host: 맞아요. 싱가폴에서 왔는데요. 한국말 아주 잘하시죠?
(That's right, she's from Singapore. Speaks Korean really well doesn't she?)
Man #2: 싱가폴요??! 진짜 예쁜네요! 왈...
(Singapore??! Really pretty.... wow)
Me/: 안니에요! (laughs)
(Nooooooo...)
Host: 그럼요! 예쁘고, 영어잘하고, 한국어도 잘할수있니까 스타프 고용하고싶은데요!
(Of course! Pretty, speaks good English, and also Korean. I want to hire her as a staff)
Me: (embarrassed and on my way out) 잘가요! 건강하세요!
(Goodbye! Stay healthy!)
That was really embarrassing! I don't speak Korean that well, and I am definitely NOT pretty or anything. Ella, the manager/host, really likes me apparently. She was like "can you stay and be our staff?" Can't really differentiate if she is just kidding, or she is being sincere about it. It doesn't matter because I won't be staying to be her staff either way. Though I'll love to work in Korea, I don't think I want to work at a guest house in Busan.
On the way to Seoul on board the train, I slept for a bit, ate my potato stick snack and enjoyed the extraordinary view. Everything is white, covered in snow. Had my music plugged in and Renodia's soothing music matched the atmosphere. It felt as if there is just me, the music and the snowy scene. Seems a little lonely, yet enjoying the peace and solitude. Reaching Seoul in another 10 minutes or so, and I will be really busy from now onwards. I have had two different batches of room mates during my short stay in Busan, and they all recommended me 'off the beaten spots' in and around Seoul. Plus, a snowboarding trip, and other meet-ups with friends, will keep me busy all the way up til the end of my stay.
Just saw the weather forecast for Seoul. Apparently it is SNOWING today! -8 degrees approximately. OMG I love it! It didn't snow in Busan, and it wasn't cold either in my opinion. I walked around sometimes without my coat on, much to the 'shock' of the ahjummas here, who looked at me and gaped "안 추워요??!!!" (Aren't you cold?!). I think I am quite mad, and sometimes I wonder what am I made of. Plenty of fats, yes. But is that all?
Looks like this will really be the very last post of 2012, unless I decide that I will take some time to blog again. 2.5 more days to go, then 2013! Let's enjoy!! :D
